On the way out of the Sapporo Station, walk about 5 min towards the " Oodori " there is Sapporo Grand Hotel.

It was built as the first Western-style hotels of Hokkaido in 1934. It is the 80th anniversary in 2014.

The hotel was renovated last year and a new gallery was opened at the corner of lobby space. That is “GRANVISTA GALLERY SAPPORO”.

 

When you say "Gallery ", most people have an unfamiliar image that is hard to enter, but this gallery is made for people who wants to enjoy feel free of arts and designs in Japnan. So anyone can feel free to look for free as any times.

 

The gallery was opened with “LIFE” exhibition by Kazumasa Nagai, who designed the official mark of Sapporo Olympics in 1972. As the opening event  a talk event with Shigeru Uchida, who designed the gallery was held.

Since it is located in the center of Sapporo, it is possible for you to drop in easily.

I vist there whenever I come to Sapporo.

You can enjoy enough from the outside of the glass to be stopped at night. 

This location is also ideal for meeting.
